Grandma's
Grandma's
Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252, North Bridge Road, #B1-76, Singapore 179103
Recently I had an encounter which this restaurant franchise which prompted me to write this review on it. To set the background, I had just finished a meeting with some business colleagues and decided to sample the cuisine at this eatery.
On checking out the food directory, the branding of this eatery caught my eye and this reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking back home in Malaysia and this nostalgia brought back many good memories for me. With this memory in mind, I decided to give this place a try so went ahead to the restaurant.
This restaurant is located at the Basement 1 in Raffles City. That level is known to be a foodie’s paradise because of the vast variety of cuisines that is available for the discerning customer to sample. On my initial walk to the restaurant, I noticed a short queue ahead and obediently joined the queue. On glancing through the menu, I was impressed with the choices of dishes available. There were many dishes that my family in Malaysia and Indonesia would cook so I was looking forward to it. Dishes like Beef Rendang, Honey Chicken, Curry Fish and many other tasty dishes were on the menu.
Our company of 4 chose 6 dishes and after a decent 10min of deciding what to eat, we settled for Honey Chicken, Curry Fish Head, Sambal Kang Kong, Fried eggs with prawns, Sambal prawns and Ayam Buah Keluak. Personally the food was so delicious that I had 2 bowls of rice when normally only a bowl would suffice for me.
The only concern I had was that the food did not come in big portions so each individual could only take a small sampling from each dish. I noticed that the Nasi Lemak was quite appetizing so I decided that it would be my choice for the next visit to Grandma’s.
